Låtspel med Norr om Stockholm

Three fiddles, three women, three provinces, one complete tradition. Norr om Stockholm is a trio that has performed together for many years. In our genre, we often talk about men, their fathers and their grandfathers. Many of us are taking up this problem. It’s important to examine this issue since tradition is not just about grandfathers who had fancy farm names. It’s also about Annie Appelqvist and her fiddle, Karin Sikström’s voice, Nelly Östlund's repertoire and all the grandmothers who taught fiddlers their songs. Norr om Stockholm play songs from and by women. This workshop offers the opportunity to join this journey of songs where female musical traditions are given their rightful place.
