Ulrika Bodén Band - Kärlekssånger

This expressive singer and these colourful musicians have created a unique sound together. Melodic drum beats and smoking nylon strings, fiddle, and trumpet back up Ulrika's delicate, yet powerful voice.

The Ulrika Bodén Band received two nominations at the Folk and World Music Gala in Umeå and was awarded the Manifest Prize for the album Kärlekssånger 2014. For several years Ulrika collected songs for the album, both traditional and her own material. Exubrient, self-assured and bittersweet lyrics were chosen with great care while looking at love from different angles.

The band will perform a fast-paced festival set in Studion. Sunday's concert has been created especially for the church Mariakyrkan and it will be tranquil and beautiful with peaceful songs.

The Ulrika Bodén Band is an eight-member quintet that occassionally double up on some of the instruments. At Umefolk the band consists of:

Ulrika Bodén - vocals, autoharp, flute
Emma Ahlberg - fiddle and viola

Mia Marin - five-string fiddle

Gustav Hylén - trumpet

Daniel Fredriksson - mandora

Petter Berndalen - percussion
